Q4 2020 Performance of Top Geolocation Games on iOS in the UK

The final quarter of 2020 saw interesting trends in the geolocation gaming category on iOS in the United Kingdom. Sensor Tower's data provides a snapshot of how five leading games fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

Niantic, Inc.'s Pokémon GO continued to be a frontrunner in the category, with weekly revenues ranging from approximately $232K to $382K. Downloads spiked to around 41K in the week of December 21, while weekly active users showed a slight decline from over 1M in September to around 940K by the year's end.

Jam City, Inc.'s Jurassic World Alive generated weekly revenues between roughly $8K and $14K. The game experienced a peak in downloads at nearly 1.6K in late October and saw its active user base decrease slightly from 21K to 17K over the quarter.

Illumix, Inc.'s Five Nights at Freddy's AR showed variable revenue with a notable peak of around $11K in the week leading up to Christmas. Downloads for the game hit a high point of over 4K in the same period, while active users climbed to approximately 11.8K from a low of around 6.7K earlier in the quarter.

Tamadog - Puppy Pet Dog Games by Akita Limited Liability Company saw its revenue fluctuate, with a noticeable increase to nearly $3.8K at the end of December. The game's downloads and weekly active users both showed an upward trend in the same period, reaching about 3.5K and 3.7K, respectively.

Finally, The Walking Dead: Our World from Next Games in Finland had a modest revenue trend with a peak of over $3.3K in mid-December. The game's downloads surged to over 1.4K in the same week, while active users reached a high of approximately 7.3K, up from almost 5.9K at the start of Q4.
